Broadway Bites by UrbanSpace

Last night my good friend Murphy and I were out for a bit of shopping in Herald Square, when we encountered an adorable pop-up food market right on 34th Street in Greeley Square Park!  The market is called Broadway Bites, organized by UrbanSpace, and features many small businesses located here in New York City.  It started on October 6th and is happening daily, from 11am to 9pm, until November 14th.
While walking along the row of vendors, we couldn't resist trying a few things! There was a wide variety of food including everything from tacos, to macaroni and cheese, fish and chips, donuts, even crepes! After much debating, we decided to stop at Roberta's Pizza for a wood-fired margarita pizza.  I must say, it was a great choice on our part.  The pizza didn't take long to be made, and it was delicious!!
Now, it was time for dessert! This was an even harder decision!  We stopped at the Wafels & Dinges tent for Belgian waffles topped with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, Nutella, and powdered sugar.  It was the perfect treat to end this very long week!
If you're planning on being in New York City before November 14th, I highly recommend you check out Broadway Bites! They really have something for everyone! I will definitely be going back a few more times to get a taste of what New York City has to offer!

OOTD: Monday Blues

Today was a beautiful fall day here at FIT! The weather was perfect to break out my leather skirt and ankle booties! And I am in love with this new floral top, not only because it was a bargain, but the floral print and colorblocking are right on trend. It gives "the Monday blues" a whole new meaning!

Fall Decorating!

It's officially fall and that means it's time to bring out the fall decor!  If you're looking for a creative and stylish statement piece for your home this season, sequin studded pumpkins are the perfect craft to do on one of those cold, rainy days! In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to make the initial pumpkin pictured above.

The pumpkins I used are foam pumpkins that I bought at Michael's Craft Store.  They come in many shapes and sizes.  I chose the large, round pumpkins for the initial design.
**Do not use real pumpkins.  The foam pumpkins won't rot, can be left out through the entire fall season, and can be used again and again for years to come!**

You will need a package of multicolored sequins and a package of white pearl head pins (both found at Michael's).  The package of sequins I used comes with a variety of gold tones and also includes both small and large sizes of sequins.

Using a pencil, lightly outline the letter (or any other design) that you want on your pumpkin.

Take a pin and slip it through the center of a sequin.

Line up the pin with the outline of your design and push the pin into the pumpkin.
Continue to follow your outline and alternate the colors and sizes of sequins as you go.

Here are some examples of the finished product! My roommate and I made our initials and displayed them on the windowsill in our dorm room! (See below)

Here are a few other design ideas!
 HAPPY FALL!!
